Why Do I Blog? In case you were wondering...

Today is my anniversary and I was a slacker yesterday and did not get my tutorial ready for today, so here is a teaser for Monday's post and a reminder to sign up for my newsletter (over there on the left). I have some news coming about a big giveaway and you will not want to miss it!

"Oh, yum! What is this?", you wonder. Find out on Monday!

And on to the post!

...In case you wanted to know a little more about me, I've added a special little treat. This week I have been participating in the SITS Girls Back To Blogging Week (See the bottom for more details). Today's topic is "Why do you blog?" So here we go...

Why do I blog?

I blog for me and to share the fun we have with others. Ten Months ago (in the middle of winter) I was tired of feeling like we were bored at home and frustrated with our situation. I kept thinking, "if we had a little money we could go do (fill in the blank)." I had to stop myself and give myself a big reminder that fun does not have to cost any money. Fun is spending time together and there were plenty of creative ways to have fun. I also had to remind myself that we were not the only family in a situation with little money with the economy the way it is and being full-time students. So I challenged myself to do 2 inexpensive and easy things each week with my children. And thus, I started this blog to share the fun we are having with others in hope of inspiring a little "cheap fun" in their families, too.

What it all boils down to... after the years have gone by, the time you have spent playing with your family will be one of the things you will never regret. This is the thought that keeps me going. I'm never going to regret any of the fun we are having and the memories we are making. Even including this memory below. I'm not going to regret it!

I may regret that I left them in my bedroom alone for 2 minutes while I went across the house to find the phone. But they were only trying to paint! LOL

What I love about having this blog is the feedback. I love having a place where I get input on my ideas and readers suggest their variations. My absolute favorite part of this blog is when I hear someone say "I'm doing this right now. Thanks!" because that is what I want cheap and easy that if someone wanted to follow along and do the projects, they could! And I will admit that a bonus is that my kids love seeing their faces on the computer!

Keep the fun going!

  2. I don't have kids, but my favorite memories from childhood are the ones that cost little or nothing. Do I remember the trips to Disneyland? Vaguely. Do I remember the vacations? A little. Do I remember the time we got into this huge water gun fight that took over the entire house AND both yards? Every minute of it.
